Pool and Otley have made it through to the final of the Wharfedale FA Challenge Cup.
Pool were victors in a narrow semi-final victory on a very wet Riverside pitch on Saturday, beating Route One Rovers 3-2. Pool opened the scoring after a corner was headed home by Joe Garner-Currie only for Route One to respond quickly and draw level. Pool then went ahead for the second time only to be yet again pegged back Route One with Mohamed Khan scoring. However Pool prevailed with Tom Fleming finding some room in the opposition box and he showed great composure to slot the ball into the net.
Otley Town have also booked their place in the final with a 4-2 victory over Horsforth St. Margarets with Rick Parry scoring the first goal of the game to set Otley on their way. Harry Leigh and then Luke Stainthorpe made it 3-0 going into the break. Horsforth pulled a goal back 5 minutes in to the 2nd half only for Stainthorpe to grab his second. Horsforth replied late on meaning the tie ended 4-2 with Otley booking their place in the final on Monday 7th May.
